Sydney’s Second Capsule Hotel Opens At UNSW’s Kensington Campus

Following the recent opening of Sydney’s first capsule hotel at Bar Century in the CBD, a second pod-style temporary residence has been opened at UNSW’s Kensington campus.

The capsule hotel offers single and queen beds with HECS-able fees starting from just $30 per night, as well as water-resistant pillows to absorb the tears of unprepared students.

The development comes at the perfect time for students who have recently been staying late at the university in order to “cram” for their exams, marking a welcome change from crashing on the nearest couch or booth with a bundle of notes as a pillow.

“I’ve probably spent more nights sleeping on couches at uni than at home in the past two weeks, so I’ll definitely be hitting up the pod hotel from now on,” said third year student Margaret Clark.

“It’s hard to get going for a 9am exam with a stiff neck and deflated dignity – hopefully this will make things easier.”

The new accommodation was also met with a warm response from UNSW’s bachelors and bachelorettes, seeing the potential for quick and easy mutual stress-relief as the stress of exams takes hold.

“I can just jump on tinder and swipe right on anyone who’s still around at midnight,” said John Chang.

“Then it’s just ‘meet me at pod 12’, and you’re good to go”.
